What's up my friend, my name is Kelvin and welcome to the Getting Started with Sails course. By the end of this course, you will know how to install Sails, create a new Sails application, and connect your application to your database. You would also learn the layout of a Sails application as well as the basics of MVC and RESTful design. We would also look at how to quickly generate the basic pieces we'll need for your Sails application.

This course holds no assumption of you having any exposure or knowledge about Sails. However, a basic knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript will be needed since Sails is a framework for Node.js, and Node.js is a JavaScript runtime. With that out of the way, let's move on to the next lesson where we will learn about Sails in full.
